Refuge Peru to Pisco
One of the first refuges that was built in the Huascarán National Park; It was inaugurated on October 31, 1996.
We have radio coverage with operations base in Marcará (Ancash).
- Altitude: 4680 m
- Place: Pisco Base Camp
- Montains to climb: Pisco, Huandoy and Chacraraju
- Open: June to september
- Capacity: 80 beds in shared rooms with cabins, restaurant service, heating, toilets with hot shower.
- Access: Transport from Huaraz or Marcara, We take the asphalted track of the Callejón de Huaylas and we pass through the cities of Carhuaz and Yungay; From here we take the route through the Llanganuco valley (Huascaran National Park Control) after passing through the 2 Lagoons we reach Cebollapampa (3900m.) From there three hours of moderate walking to the refuge.
- Activities: Visit the Corazon lake at the foot of Huandoy south, by an unfrequented route, from where you have a good view of the Pisco and Huandoy snowcapped mountains, and return by the beautiful Lagoon 69, at the foot of the snow-capped wall of Chacraraju.
